A principle only shows what it is worth once someone applies it to a case that matters. I help design ethics boards from the ground up: which principles a specific organization should hold, how to reason from those principles to the decision in front of the board, and how to give that reasoning legitimacy to reach the operations of the organization.

I also write escalation procedures, position papers, and complicity guidelines that draw lines an engineer can apply without calling a lawyer. Where a responsibility team already exists (e.g. privacy, safety, responsibility, foresight), I work with it on a narrower question: whether a mandate built for an earlier problem still fits the one the organization is challenged by now.
